Q: What mobile devices does Guardian support?
A: Guardian supports BlackBerry and iPhone/iPad*. At this time, no other devices (including Android) are supported. Additional device support will be examined in 2013.
*iOS devices are limited to General Agents, Agent Supervisors, Producers, Pre-Contract FRs and Office Managers and are supported concurrent with your agency's migration to Google, not before.
Q: Can I keep my BlackBerry until I can switch to a new phone when my contract expires?
A: Yes. All BlackBerry devices will continue to be supported. If you have an older device, and are able, you should upgrade the operating system in order to avoid a full wipe of the device. All BlackBerry owners should back up their data to protect against data loss.
Q: What about tablets? Can we utilize tablets other than the iPad?
A: Only iPad is supported, unless the tablet uses a compatible MicroSoft OS (Win7). In the latter case, access to mail/calendar/contacts is via the web browser through Guardian Online (GOL).
Q: What happens on our go-live date with my existing BlackBerry - will my contacts be put back on the phone or will this require action on my part?
A: ALL USERS must back up their BlackBerry devices to protect against data loss. Day 1 Instructions will be sent prior to your go live with details on how to reconnect your device (it does require action on your part, and is not automatic). Once the device is hooked back up to Guardian/Google, the contacts that were transferred to Google (i.e. those in iNotes) will be synchronized to the BlackBerry. If the contacts on the device today are not in iNotes (web-based version of Notes, accessed through GOL, upper right), users must take steps to get them there. Instructions on how to do this can be found on this site at http://ggg.glic.com/contacts-sync-for-blackberry-users. If you did not synchronize your device contacts with iNotes, then you will need to restore your BlackBerry contacts via Desktop Manager (and the backup file you created prior to migration).

Q: I am trying to back up my iOS device (iPad or iPhone) to the cloud and I cannot - why?
A: Guardian blocks this ability with your Guardian email account. You need to use the backup feature within iTunes.
Q: I deleted an email on my iOS device and it was removed from my online inbox, but I can still see it in my online account under All Mail and in searches. Why is this?
A: You will need to set your account to actually delete the email. The default setting is to delete it from the device, but archive it in the online account. To do this:
