Subject: Google Migration - Time to Synchronize or Back up your Blackberry Contacts

It has been determined that your Blackberry contacts are wirelessly synchronizing with a location which will not be migrated to Gmail. During the transition to Google, the corporate information on your Blackberry will be wiped out, including your contacts. To ensure you do not lose any information, you should perform the actions below.

1. Check and Synchronize your address books. Open iNotes and verify that your Contacts are all listed and up to date. If they are not, you will need to synchronize your Notes and iNotes address books. Contact the Guardian Agency Support Center at 800-499-8820 for assistance with this operation. When calling, share that you are part of the Google migration and currently synchronize to a server-based address book and need to ensure that the contacts in the server-based address book are all in your iNotes address book.

2. Backup your device prior to the migration. The contacts can then be restored to the device after the transition. You should use the Blackberry Desktop software to perform this backup. If you do not yet have it installed, used the first link to download the application. The second link gives directions on how to back up your data once the software has been installed.

We encourage you to perform these actions to ensure your Blackberry contact data is migrated in its entirety to Google or able to be recovered after your device is wiped the weekend of your agency’s migration.
